Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs large
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups pecans chopped
  • 1/2 tsp butter extract optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract and butter extract if using.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in chopped pecans until evenly distributed.
  7. Scoop tablespoon-sized dough portions onto baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are lightly golden. Cool before serving.

Notes

For deeper flavor, lightly toast the pecans before folding them into the dough.
