Ingredients

Bread Pudding Base
  • 5 cups cubed bread day-old preferred
  • 2 apples peeled and diced
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Caramel Sauce
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce plus more for serving

Equipment

  • Baking Dish

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish lightly.
  2. Place the cubed bread and diced apples into the baking dish.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla.
  4. Pour the mixture evenly over the bread and apples. Gently press down so the bread absorbs the custard.
  5. Drizzle 1/2 cup caramel sauce over the top.
  6. Bake for 45 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is golden.
  7. Serve warm with extra caramel sauce drizzled on top.

Notes

Try adding chopped pecans or a pinch of nutmeg for extra flavor.
