Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar, and salt. Add the melted butter and mix until crumbly.
- Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan.
- Bake the crust for 10 minutes to set.
- In another bowl, combine the shredded coconut, pecans, and dried cherries.
- Pour the sweetened condensed milk over the mixture and add vanilla extract. Stir until everything is well coated.
- Spread the cherry-coconut-pecan mixture evenly over the warm crust.
- Return the pan to the oven and bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the top is lightly golden.
- Allow the bars to cool completely before slicing into squares.
Notes
For cleaner cuts, chill the bars for 30 minutes before slicing.
