Ingredients
  

Apple Filling
  • 6 apples peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
Crisp Topping
  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter cold, cut into cubes

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish lightly.
  2. In a large bowl, toss sliced apples with sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Spread evenly in the baking dish.
  3. In another bowl, combine oats, flour, and brown sugar. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the apple mixture.
  5. Bake for 40–45 minutes, until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.

Notes

Best served warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Try adding chopped nuts to the topping for extra crunch.
