Method
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Carefully slice the entire package of Hawaiian rolls horizontally through the middle, keeping them connected. Place the bottom half of the rolls into the prepared baking dish.
- Layer the bottom half of the rolls with slices of ham, ensuring even coverage. Follow with a layer of Swiss cheese slices over the ham. Place the top half of the rolls back over the cheese layer.
- In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter. Remove from heat and stir in the Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder (if using), poppy seeds (if using), and a pinch of salt and black pepper until well combined.
- Pour the butter mixture evenly over the tops of the assembled sliders. Use a pastry brush to ensure all the tops are coated, allowing some of the mixture to seep down the sides.
- Cover the baking dish loosely with aluminum foil. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until the tops of the rolls are golden brown and slightly crispy.
- Carefully remove the baking dish from the oven. Let the sliders rest for 5 minutes before slicing them apart along the original perforations of the rolls. Serve warm.
Notes
Variations: Feel free to experiment with different cheeses like cheddar or provolone, or add thinly sliced pickles or a sprinkle of everything bagel seasoning to the glaze for extra flavor.
Make Ahead: Assemble the sliders and pour the glaze over them. Cover and refrigerate for up to 24 hours. Let sit at room temperature for 15-20 minutes before baking as directed, adding a few extra minutes to the initial covered baking time if needed.
Storage: Leftover sliders can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave.
