Method
- Combine cranberries, sugar, and water in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10–15 minutes until cranberries burst and sauce thickens.
- Stir in orange zest and vanilla if using.
- Remove from heat and let cool; it will thicken further as it sets.
Notes
For extra flavor, replace half the water with orange juice or add a cinnamon stick while simmering.
