- Line an 8x8-inch pan with parchment paper, leaving extra over the sides for easy lifting.
- In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter completely.
- Add the peanut butter and stir until smooth and fully combined with the melted butter. Remove from heat.
- Stir in the vanilla extract and salt.
- Gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing until the fudge becomes thick and smooth with no lumps.
- Transfer the mixture into the prepared pan and press evenly with a spatula.
- Sprinkle with crushed peanuts if desired, gently pressing them into the surface.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until firm.
- Lift from the pan and cut into squares before serving.
Notes
For a chocolate-peanut butter twist, swirl in melted chocolate before chilling. Store your fudge in the fridge for the best texture.
