Cheesecake Filling
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Sandwich Assembly
  • 8 slices white bread crusts removed
  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries chopped
  • 1 egg egg beaten
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs for coating
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil for frying

  • chocolate syrup for drizzling

Method
 

  1. In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  2. Spread cheesecake mixture evenly on four slices of bread. Top with chopped strawberries and another slice of bread to form sandwiches.
  3. In a shallow bowl, whisk egg and milk together. Dip each sandwich into the mixture, then coat with breadcrumbs.
  4. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry sandwiches until golden brown on each side, about 2 minutes per side.
  5. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels. Let cool slightly.
  6. Dust with powdered sugar and drizzle with chocolate syrup before serving.
