Ingredients

Cod Strips
  • 1 lb cod fillets cut into strips
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 tsp salt or to taste
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
Sweet Chili Lime Sauce
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tbsp lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 tsp lime zest
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp honey optional, for extra sweetness
For Garnish
  • fresh cilantro chopped
  • lime wedges for serving

Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Tongs
  • Small saucepan

Method

  1. Pat the cod strips dry with paper towels and season with salt and black pepper.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add the cod strips and cook for 2–3 minutes on each side until golden brown and flaky. Remove from heat and set aside.
  4. In a small saucepan, combine sweet chili sauce, lime juice, lime zest, soy sauce, and honey. Heat gently for 2–3 minutes until warmed through and slightly thickened.
  5. Arrange cod strips on a serving plate and drizzle with the sweet chili lime sauce. Garnish with chopped cilantro and lime wedges.

Notes

For extra crunch, lightly dredge the cod in flour before frying. This dish pairs beautifully with jasmine rice or a crisp side salad.
