- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and chopped onion until beef is browned and onion is soft. Drain excess grease.
- In a mixing bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup, milk, salt, and pepper. Stir in cooked beef mixture, green beans, and half of the fried onions.
- Transfer mixture to the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle with shredded cheese.
- Bake uncovered for 25 minutes, then top with remaining fried onions and bake an additional 5 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy warm!
Notes
For a richer flavor, try adding a dash of Worcestershire sauce or a sprinkle of garlic powder to the beef mixture. This casserole reheats beautifully for leftovers!
