Method
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease or line a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
- Whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and black pepper in a large bowl.
- Stir in cheddar cheese and jalapeños until evenly distributed.
- In another bowl, whisk milk, melted butter, egg, and honey until smooth.
- Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and gently mix until just combined.
- Transfer batter to prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 45–50 minutes, until golden and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool slightly before slicing.
Notes
For extra heat, leave some jalapeño seeds intact or add a pinch of cayenne pepper.
