  • 4 brioche burger buns
  • 4 beef burger patties about 150 g each
  • 8 slices beef bacon or turkey bacon
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
Glaze
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
Vegetables & Sauce
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small red onion sliced
  • 1 tomato sliced
  • 1 cup lettuce leaves
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together maple syrup and soy sauce to create the glaze. Set aside.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the beef bacon or turkey bacon until crisp. Brush lightly with the maple glaze during the last minute of cooking. Remove and keep warm.
  3. In the same skillet, add olive oil and cook the burger patties for 4–5 minutes per side, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  4. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover the skillet to melt it.
  5. Lightly toast the brioche buns in the skillet or oven until golden.
  6. Mix the mayonnaise and mustard, then spread the sauce on the bottom halves of the buns.
  7. Layer lettuce, tomato slices, and red onion.
  8. Add the cheesy burger patty on top, followed by two slices of maple-glazed beef bacon or turkey bacon.
  9. Cover with the top bun and serve warm.
