Ingredients
  

  • 8 slices brioche or challah bread cubed
  • 1 cup cooked turkey breast sliced or diced
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 1/2 cup Swiss-style cheese shredded
  • 5 eggs large
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • powdered sugar for serving
  • fruit jam for serving

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Spread half of the bread cubes evenly in the baking dish.
  3. Layer turkey over the bread, followed by mozzarella and Swiss-style cheese.
  4. Top with the remaining bread cubes.
  5. Whisk together eggs, milk, Dijon mustard, maple syrup, salt, pepper, and paprika.
  6. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread and press gently to absorb.
  7. Drizzle melted butter over the top and let rest for 15 minutes.
  8. Bake uncovered for 40–45 minutes until golden, puffed, and set in the center.
  9. Cool slightly, dust with powdered sugar, and serve with fruit jam.

Notes

This casserole is best served warm and pairs perfectly with a light fruit jam on the side.
