Ingredients

Chicken
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tsp salt divided
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
Lemon Garlic Sauce
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth low sodium
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley chopped, for garnish

Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Tongs
  • Mixing Bowl

Method

  1. Season chicken breasts on both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken breasts and sear for 5–6 minutes per side, until golden and cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Pour in chicken broth, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Stir and bring to a simmer for 2 minutes.
  5. Stir in butter until melted to create a silky sauce.
  6. Return chicken to the skillet, spoon sauce over top, and cook for 2–3 more minutes to absorb flavor.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm with rice or vegetables.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in lemon juice and garlic for 30 minutes before cooking. Serve with roasted potatoes or steamed green beans for a balanced meal.
