- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mix the melted butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until smooth and glossy.
- Add the mashed bananas, egg, and vanilla extract, stirring until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the banana mixture until just combined.
- Gently stir in the chocolate chips and walnuts if using.
- Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes, until the edges are set and the center is slightly gooey.
- Allow to cool for at least 20 minutes before slicing into bars.
Notes
For extra indulgence, serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container.
