Prepare Ingredients
- If using fresh oranges, peel and separate them into segments. Place them in a freezer-safe bag or container and freeze for at least 2 hours, or until solid. (Skip this step if using pre-frozen orange segments).
Blend the Smoothie
- Add the frozen orange segments, milk, vanilla Greek yogurt, vanilla extract, and optional sweetener (honey or maple syrup) to a high-speed blender.
- If you desire a thicker or colder smoothie, add 3-4 ice cubes.
- Blend on high until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy. If necessary, stop the blender and scrape down the sides with a spatula to ensure all ingredients are incorporated.
Serve
- Pour the Orange Creamsicle Smoothie into two serving glasses.
- Garnish each glass with a fresh orange slice, if desired, and serve immediately.
Notes
For a protein boost, add 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder. To make it dairy-free, use dairy-free milk (like almond or oat milk) and a dairy-free vanilla yogurt. Adjust the sweetness to your preference; start with 1 tablespoon and add more if needed. This smoothie is best enjoyed fresh.
