Ingredients

Salisbury Steaks
  • 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce alcohol-free
  • 1 tsp mustard powder
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
Gravy
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
Honey Butter Croissants
  • 8 croissant rolls (unbaked dough) store-bought
  • 3 tbsp butter softened
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar

Method

  1. In a large bowl, mix the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, mustard powder, salt, and pepper. Shape into 6 oval patties.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for 4–5 minutes on each side until browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt the butter, then whisk in the flour to create a roux. Cook for 1 minute.
  4. Slowly pour in the beef broth, whisking continuously until the gravy thickens.
  5. Add soy sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
  6. Return the patties to the skillet, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes until cooked through and infused with gravy.
  7. Preheat oven according to croissant package instructions.
  8. In a small bowl, mix softened butter, honey, and brown sugar.
  9. Unroll the croissant dough, brush with honey butter, roll, and shape.
  10. Bake until golden brown. Brush again with remaining honey butter for a sweet, glossy finish.
