- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Season the chicken breasts on both sides with salt, black pepper, cumin, and smoked paprika.
- Place the chicken in the skillet and cook for 4–5 minutes per side until lightly golden.
- Add the sliced onion and minced garlic around the chicken and sauté for 2 minutes until fragrant.
- Pour the salsa verde evenly over the chicken.
- Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20–25 minutes until the chicken is fully cooked and tender.
- Remove the lid and let the sauce simmer uncovered for 5 minutes to slightly thicken.
- Drizzle with fresh lime juice and sprinkle with chopped cilantro.
- Serve hot with avocado slices and warm tortillas.

This chicken is great served in tacos, over rice, or alongside roasted vegetables.
