Ingredients

Crust
  • 1 refrigerated pizza dough or homemade
Sausage Gravy
  • 1/2 lb breakfast sausage
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups milk whole or 2%
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp salt or to taste
Toppings
  • 4 large eggs scrambled and cooked soft
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • chopped green onions for garnish (optional)

Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Baking Sheet or Pizza Pan
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Whisk

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Roll out pizza dough on a lightly floured surface and place it on a greased pizza pan or baking sheet.
  2. In a skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat until browned. Remove sausage from the skillet, leaving about 2 tablespoons of drippings.
  3. Add butter to the skillet. Once melted, whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute to form a roux.
  4. Gradually whisk in milk, stirring constantly until thickened. Add cooked sausage, pepper, and salt. Remove from heat.
  5. Spread the sausage gravy evenly over the prepared pizza crust.
  6. Top with scrambled eggs, mozzarella, and cheddar cheese.
  7. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
  8. Sprinkle with green onions before serving. Slice and enjoy warm!

Notes

For a flavor twist, add crumbled bacon or a sprinkle of crushed red pepper. This pizza also reheats beautifully for a quick weekday breakfast.
