Ingredients

Base Layers
  • 1 can strawberry pie filling (21 oz / 595 g)
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Cake Layer
  • 1 box yellow cake mix (15.25 oz / 432 g)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
Optional Toppings
  • fresh strawberries for garnish
  • whipped cream for serving

Equipment

  • 9x13 inch baking dish
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Electric Mixer
  • Spatula

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Spread strawberry pie filling evenly over the bottom of the prepared dish.
  3. In a medium bowl, beat softened cream cheese with sugar and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  4. Dollop the cream cheese mixture over the strawberry layer and gently swirl with a knife.
  5. Evenly sprinkle the dry cake mix over the top — do not stir.
  6. Drizzle melted butter evenly over the cake mix, ensuring most of it is moistened.
  7. Bake uncovered for 40–45 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly around the edges.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving. Top with fresh strawberries and whipped cream if desired.

Notes

Try swapping the strawberry pie filling for cherry or blueberry for a fun twist. Best served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
