Ingredients

  • 1 cup frozen mango chunks
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1 ripe banana peeled, fresh or frozen for extra creaminess
  • 1/2 cup almond milk or your preferred milk (dairy, soy, oat) or juice (orange, apple)
  • 1-2 tbsp honey or maple syrup optional, adjust to taste
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract optional, enhances flavor
  • 1/4 cup ice cubes optional, for extra thickness and chill

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Measuring Cups
  • Measuring Spoons

Method

  1. Gather all your ingredients. Add the frozen mango chunks, frozen strawberries, ripe banana, almond milk, optional honey or maple syrup, optional vanilla extract, and optional ice cubes into your blender.
  2. Secure the lid on your blender. Blend on high speed for 30-60 seconds, or until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy. Ensure there are no visible fruit chunks remaining.
  3. Check the consistency of the smoothie. If it's too thick for your liking, add more almond milk (or water/juice) one tablespoon at a time and blend again until you achieve your desired pourable consistency.
  4. Taste the "Sunshine in a Glass Easy Mango Strawberry Smoothie" and adjust the sweetness if necessary. If you prefer it sweeter, add another teaspoon of honey or maple syrup and blend for a few more seconds to combine.
  5. Pour the freshly blended smoothie into two glasses and serve immediately. For an appealing touch, you can garnish with a fresh strawberry, a mango slice, or a sprig of mint.

Notes

For an extra nutritional boost, consider adding 1 tablespoon of chia seeds or a handful of fresh spinach (it blends in well and you won't taste it!). For a more tropical twist, use coconut water instead of almond milk. Adding a scoop of plain or vanilla yogurt can increase protein and create an even creamier texture. Best enjoyed fresh!
