- In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until smooth.
- Pour the mixture into a shallow dish and place the bread slices inside, allowing them to soak for 20–30 seconds per side.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and melt 1 tablespoon butter.
- Place soaked bread slices onto the skillet and cook for 3–4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and slightly crisp.
- Add the remaining butter as needed and continue cooking the rest of the slices.
- Transfer to a warm plate and dust lightly with powdered sugar.
- Serve with fresh berries and maple syrup for the ultimate finish.
Notes
For extra richness, use thick-cut brioche and allow the bread to soak slightly longer for a creamier interior.
