  • 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1/2 ripe avocado pitted and peeled
  • 1/2 lemon juiced (about 2 tbsp)
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk or milk of choice
  • 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt optional, for extra creaminess and protein
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup or honey optional, adjust to taste
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract optional
  • 1/4 cup ice cubes optional, for a thicker, colder smoothie

Method
 

  1. Combine the frozen blueberries, ripe avocado (pitted and peeled), fresh lemon juice, unsweetened almond milk, optional plain Greek yogurt, optional maple syrup or honey, optional vanilla extract, and optional ice cubes in a high-speed blender.
  2. Blend on high until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy. If the smoothie is too thick, add a splash more almond milk. If you prefer it thicker, add a few more ice cubes or a bit more frozen fruit.
  3. Pour the smoothie into a glass and serve immediately for the best taste and texture.

Notes

Feel free to adjust the sweetness to your liking. For a boost of greens, a handful of spinach blends seamlessly into this smoothie without altering the flavor significantly. This smoothie is best enjoyed fresh.
